I’v been looking around for a good used laptop but i keep running up with websites that sale them for 500 to 700 dollars which is dumb because i can get a brand new one cheaper, i just want a used laptop that i can use in school i dont have much money at the moment so can anyone help me out with web sites or anything?

…REALLY? For starters, those “dumb” $ 500-700 laptops probably have far better specs than the brand new cheap ones. Do you think that laptops are all created equal or something?

Second…you’ve never heard of eBay or Craigslist? Did you just get on the internet for the first time today?

The question I have is are there any laptops with:

- intel i7 processors
- battery life of 3 hrs + (normal use)
- 14.5″ screen or smaller

I would really appreciate it if you guys could help me with this. I need it for college (I’m already two weeks in) and I have been looking for a while. If I don’t get it soon I’ll be screwed.

Hey, you could just lower the back light on it to make the screen less bright,
and it should last twice as long.

I took my laptop, with batter halfway and it lasted 2 hours with lowest back light.
But I don’t have an i7.
It should still work, though.

Try any of these laptops.

I just got an adapter. It is wireless. You plug it in to the head phone part and tune it in to the station. I have it because My car has a cassette player in it. I like to listen to my Cd’s, and MP3′s (Not to mention my brother’s when I drive around like to watch DVDs). It is aw some they have them at Best Buy, FYE, and Suncoast. Good Luck!

Unfortunately no, the laptop’s uses too much power to have a carry around battery pack, the item your talking about would be larger than the actual laptop.

You have a few options though:
Option 1:
Get several extra high capacity batteries that fit your laptop, although that may become a little expensive as each extra battery can cost $ 60 each. and at about 3-4hr of charge per battery you’ll need quite a few.

Option 2:
Some buses have cigarette lighters or power outlets on board, call up your charter bus company to see if it has either on board. You may be able to use a power inverter with the cigarette lighter to give yourself a power outlet, or if it has power outlets thats even better, just plug in and enjoy.

I have 2 medion laptop batterys, both appear to charge, that is you leave them charging in the laptop overnight and when you come to use the laptop the battery is absoloutley dead.

Batteries do have a lifetime, I suggest you buy another set of batteries rather than taking the risk of repairing it and making your laptop vulnerable to damage…..

i don’t know which is better, a light laptop or a netbook. i like the concept of the lightness of the netbook, but a laptop has more features. which is better because the laptop i have right now is pretty heavy, at least 6 to 7 pounds, and i dont want to carry that around while i’m at school for long periods of time.

what ever you want to buy don’t ever go for DELL.

it has light models but once you will get it, you will be in an endless series of trouble.

I have another laptop, but it won’t fit in it. Do they make something to fotmat it externally? I’m parting out some of my laptops and want to erase the hard drives .

There are various options. Sharkoon and Freecom for example make hard drive docks in which you can simply plug any hard drive. You simply connect the dock to a working computer and you can erase a hard drive easily then. External hard drive cases is a second option. You can screw the laptop hard drive into an external case and then connect the external case to a working computer again. Keep in mind that simply removing partitions or formatting a hard drive is not sufficient when selling a hard drive. Your private data will still be able to be recovered. To be sure that no data can be recovered, you will need to securely erase your hard drive using DBAN (Darik’s Boot And Nuke) for example or Heidi Eraser, both which are free of charge.

I am looking for a laptop to buy for university, im looking for touch screen tablet but that is like a full functioning laptop (dedicated video and good cpu).

I am proly buying a laptop in late or early august so I have time but are any laptops comming out with i3 i5 or i7 processors on a multi touch laptop?

I’m a junior in high school and was wondering should I buy a mac now or wait till college 2011? I know apple likes to come out with new things rapidly,but I didn’t know if they have already leaked new info or if the new unibodies are staying for a while.
